Upgrading Git Large File Storage

You can purchase additional data packs to increase your monthly bandwidth quota and total storage capacity for Git LFS.

Note

Enterprise accounts, and organizations owned by enterprise accounts, created after June 2, 2024, have access to the enhanced billing platform. Enterprises that participated in the public preview program also have access to the enhanced billing platform.

The enhanced billing platform offers better spending control and detailed visibility to help you understand your usage with more granular controls. See "Using the new billing platform."

Purchasing additional storage and bandwidth for a personal account

  1. In the upper-right corner of any page on GitHub, click your profile photo, then click Settings.

  2. In the "Access" section of the sidebar, click Billing and plans, then click Plans and usage.

  3. Next to "Git LFS Data", click Add more data or use the Edit drop-down and click Add more data packs.

  4. Enter the number of data packs you want to add to your account. Each pack costs $5 per month, and provides 50 GiB of bandwidth and 50 GiB for storage.

  5. To confirm your new monthly data pack quantity, click Purchase.

Purchasing additional storage and bandwidth for an organization

Organization owners and billing managers can access or change billing settings for an organization.

  1. In the upper-right corner of any page on GitHub, click your profile photo, then click Settings.

  2. In the "Access" section of the sidebar, click Organizations.

  3. Next to the organization, click Settings.

  4. If you are an organization owner, in the "Access" section of the sidebar, click Billing and plans.

  5. Next to "Git LFS Data", click Add more data or use the Edit drop-down and click Add more data packs.

Purchasing additional storage and bandwidth for an enterprise account

Enterprise owners and billing managers can manage billing for an enterprise account.

Note

If your enterprise account is invoiced, you may not be able to purchase Git LFS data packs on GitHub. Instead, contact GitHub's Sales team.

  1. In the top-right corner of GitHub, click your profile photo.
  2. Depending on your environment, click Your enterprise, or click Your enterprises then click the enterprise you want to view.
  3. On the left side of the page, in the enterprise account sidebar, click Settings.
  4. Under Settings, click Billing.
  5. To the right of "Git LFS", click Purchase more data packs.
  6. Select the "Choose an organization" dropdown menu and click the organization you want to purchase a data pack for.
  7. Enter the number of data packs you want to add to your account. Each pack costs $5 per month, and provides 50 GiB of bandwidth and 50 GiB for storage.
